Abstract :
Algebraic expressions, containing only real matrices, are derived for the solution of the multivariable-optimal-linear-regulator problem for a constant plant and quadratic performance index. They enable both the time-varying-or constant-feedback gains and the plant state and input variables to be computed at any required instant without the need to integrate the differential equations.
