Abstract :
The authors present the design parameters of a coupled coplanar waveguide printed on conductor-backed substrates. Conductor-backed substrates are useful for increasing the mechanical strength of microwave circuits compared to those which do not have a conductor-backed structure. The conformal mapping method is used which can provide accurate and fast calculations. Characteristic impedances and the effective dielectric constant and a closed-form formula of the structure are provided. This work has applications in monolithic microwave integrated circuit applications
