Abstract
In advanced Power Engineering and Smart Grid Laboratory environment students get opportunities to demonstrate their ability to design and conduct experiments, use knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering to perform complex experiments and learn how to use optimization procedure for accurate data interpretation, and propose additional requirements for the electromechanical devices to meet the application specifications. In this paper we discuss the effects of the strides we have made to improve the pedagogical aspect of teaching in response to changes in the power industry.
