Abstract :
The paper presents an investigation of a computer-controlled queuing system with N queues in series and Mi, 1 ¿ i ¿ N, servers of negative exponential service-time distribution serving the ith queue. A generating function for stationary-stateprobabilities of necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of statistical equilibrium for, and a formula for thedetermination of, the waiting-time distribution in the system are obtained.
