Abstract :
A new method for the determination of suboptimal control law for a large linear system is described. In this method, the large system is divided into a number of smaller noninteracting subsystems. The suboptimal control law for the large system is obtained from the optimal control laws of the subsystems. System subdivision saves a considerable amount of computer storage and time. The bounds for the suboptimal cost are also given.
