  • Abstract
    Rotor-bearing systems operating at high speeds present severe problems when passing through their critical speeds. This paper describes a method for controlling the vibrations using electromagnets to provide a velocity-dependent controlled external forcing to increase the overall damping within the rotor-bearing system.
