Abstract
An approach to teaching how pole-zero cancellation affects closed-loop system stability is presented. This is done in the context of system transfer functions derived from physical laws which govern system components. The typical set-up in signal flow graph form for the design of a single-input, single-output (SISO) linear feedback system is shown and discussed. The plant model is described using the basic laws of physics
