Abstract

This paper presents the IEEE GLOBECOM 2011 conference , hosting a wide spectrum of tutorials and workshops exploring topics like "Autonomous Underwater Sensor Networks," "Next Generation Data Center Networks for Cloud Computing," "Smart Grid Communications & Networks," "Femtocell Networks (FEMnet)," "Wireless Networking for Unmanned Autonomous Vehicles" and "Recent Advances in Cognitive Communications & Networking." Other opening day highlights included the IEEE GEOSS Forum XLIV, which brought together Earth Observation and IEEE Communications experts for a series of discussions promoting best methods for proliferating sensor networks and signal processing communications in rural areas.
