Abstract :
The paper gives tuning curves for the counterrotating modes of partial-height ferrite geometries in standard rectangular waveguides. The results apply to the three commonly used partial-height geometries since they are all related by the method of images. The influence of the image plane or waveguide wall on the frequency of the open dielectric mode is accounted for by using standard transverse-resonance techniques. The paper includes experimental results on single and coupled discs which are in good agreement with the theory.
