Abstract
The results of tests on an eddy-current coupling with a salient-pole rotor and a wrought-iron drum, fitted with heavy copper endrings to minimise end effects, are presented and compared with the theoretical results from previous papers, using the substitution B = aHb to describe the magnetisation curve. There is good agreement between test and calculation for B = aH0.077 agreement is worse for ¿ = constant at all slips below 60% of the peak-torque slip.
