Abstract
The paper presents a detailed analysis of a discrete-time queuing system with binomial input, first-come firstserved queue discipline, single server and with both instantaneous defection and service interruption. The repair times of the server are assumed to be identically distributed, independent, positive random variables with a general distribution. The service interruption is subject to binomial probability distribution. The generating functions for the queue length and waiting-time distributions are obtained. Using these generating functions, the mean queue length and mean waiting time are determined. It is shown that some results reported in the literature can be obtained from that in this paper as special cases.
