Abstract
The paper describes an evaluation exercise in the use of short case studies to motivate students towards laboratory work. The evaluation made use of semantic-differential tests and attitude scales to monitor changes in students´ attitudes. It is shown that short case studies, based on industrial problems, can have a significant effect in improving student motivation towards an undergraduate course.
