Abstract
Received signal strength indicator(RSSI) is considered as a good estimator of link quality and is also used to estimate the range between nodes in WSN. This paper analyzed the multipath effects on accuracy of range estimation using RSSI. Experiments are carried on in different environments. Through the analysis of experiments results, we can draw the conclusion that the estimation accuracy is getting worse with longer distance. And the multipath effects of enclosure environment also introduce estimation error when using RSSI.
