Abstract :
A new cell multiplexing algorithm is proposed to satisfy the service requirements of real-time traffic in ATM networks. The proposed algorithm is capable of assigning higher weights to real-time traffic than to non-real-time traffic, thereby guaranteeing the quality of service of real-time traffic. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has better performance than other cell multiplexing algorithms in terms of the mean delay time and the maximum queue length
