Abstract :
The Egan Report advocates the use of effective partnering in the place of formal contracts in order for the construction industry to re-think its processes and deliver year-on-year improvements in quality, productivity and profits. Here, the author describes how formal contracts can, however, help support effective partnering by providing tangible incentives triggered by the achievement of key performance indicators.
