Abstract
A method for turning the axis of propagation of a highly overmoded circular-waveguide system through a right angle is described. An open system using an ellipsoidal mirror reflects energy radiated from the aperture of a truncated length of circular waveguide and refocuses it in the aperture of a second circular waveguide placed perpendicular to the first waveguide. The method is shown to be capable of working over the range 30 to 100 GHz with low insertion loss
