Abstract :
With the purpose of achieving the intelligent control of the vacuum circuit breaker conveniently, based on the mathematical model of the brushless DC motor as operating mechanism, the scheme of operating mechanism control system based on digital signal processor (DSP) is put forward; meanwhile, the hardware and software of the control system are designed. A prototype of permanent magnet brushless DC motor operating mechanism is manufactured, and online commissioning tests with a 126 kV vacuum circuit breaker are completed. The test results show that the opening and closing operation of circuit breaker and the speed setting of contacts can be attained under different duty cycles of the motor. So, the controller of this kind of operating mechanism is reasonable, which establishes the foundation for the development of new generation of high voltage circuit breaker.
