Abstract :
The dielectric study of p-azoxy anisole and 1,1´diacetyl ferrocene liquid crystalline substances in dioxane solution at different concentration and at room temperature is reported. The dipole moment and the relaxation time are evaluated, and a comparison of the dipole moment value with those calculated by using static methods is made. The average value of the dipole moment for p-azoxy anisole is 9.6*10-30 Cm unit and that for 1,1´diacetyl ferrocene 20.9*10-30 Cm. The contributions of electronic polarizability, London dispersion attraction, exchange repulsion and dipole-dipole forces to the molar volume are determined using the free volume calculated from the measured ultrasonic data.
