Abstract
To decode the received symbols correctly, it is an important issue for the receiver to estimate the channel response perfectly. OFDM system adds the Virtual Subcarriers (VSs) or Guard Band (GB) to avoid the adjacent channel interference during signal transmission. However, these VSs will result in the Gibbs phenomenon for the channel estimation at the band-edge subcarriers and degrade the Bit Error Rate (BER) performance. In this paper, we proposed a modified RLS channel estimation method to ease the Gibbs phenomenon. Results show that the proposed method has a better BER improvement at the band-edge subcarriers compared with other related literary methods.
