Abstract
Dual synthetic spin valves using IrMn as the antiferromagnetic layer have been fabricated with areal densities from 10 to 36 Gbit/in 2. Tests for the environmental corrosion resistance, thermal stability, and ESD damage thresholds show these devices are reliable and viable as high density spin valve designs
