Abstract :
It was recently suggested that, when magnetic field varies arbitrarily in both direction and magnitude, certain portions of the magnetic field trajectory can be replaced without any effect on the resulting magnetization and its subsequent evolution. Here, this vector form of wipe-out memory is tested experimentally for particulate iron oxide magnetic medium using a vibrating sample magnetometer by generating magnetic field trajectories that are self-crossing. It is shown that for the class of the trajectories considered here the suggested vector form of wipe-out memory is agrees well with experimental data
