Abstract :
This paper presents exact analytical expressions to evaluate the mean symbol error rate (SER) and the mean bit error rate (BER) of Multicarrier Code Division Multiple Access (MC-CDMA) systems using a correlation receiver with maximal ratio combining (MRC) and uniform linear antenna array at the base station. The performance is evaluated considering additive white gaussian noise (AWGN), Rayleigh fading, multiple access interference (own cell interference) and co-cell interference. Simulations using the Monte Carlo method are carried out, which are compared with the analytical expressions. An asynchronous uplink case with independent fading at different subcarriers is considered and BPSK and M-QAM modulations are used.
