Abstract :
Virtually all of the research devoted to the role of technology in the classroom focuses on existing and available technologies. However, because most teachers accept the responsibility of educating students for the future, research on existing technologies ignores an important characteristic of the educator: "future vision". We examine the technological future vision of secondary school teachers in the USA, the characteristics of technologies the teachers prefer, and the manner in which they would like to use technology to meet their pedagogical goals.
