Abstract
Interconnection network is one of the important key components for both organization and performance in parallel computing systems. Particularly, communication efficiency determines computing performance in massively parallel systems. Therefore, many researches address router functions as interconnection network methods. Most of such researches focus on routing algorithm and its related issues, thus they offer insufficient discussions on arbitration functions. This paper presents comprehensive experimental results in arbitration functions. The simulation results reveal a misleading myth on appropriate arbitration functions.
