Abstract
Hard axis loops are measured for composite magnetic films, consisting of a hard magnetic layer ferromagnetically exchange coupled to a soft magnetic layer. A quasi-analytic spin chain model is able to fully explain the experimental findings. The agreement between theory and experiment demonstrates the presence of a nonhomogeneous magnetization state in the composite films.
