Abstract :
The purpose of research work presented in this paper is to increase the accuracy of measuring the reflection coefficient of modern materials used in antenna reflectors. The core idea is to employ a particular open resonator that causes multiple reflections from the sample to be measured. As a result, sensitivity to the reflectivity of the material increases. In addition, it is very important in practice, that there is no need for galvanic contact between the sample and installations. To obtain the value of the reflection coefficient, it is necessary to measure the frequency dependence of the reflected wave at the input of the resonator. Proposed computing algorithm is based on the description of electromagnetic waves in the cavity by means of geometrical optics. The results of simulations and experiments confirmed the applicability of the approach taken and the stability of the proposed algorithm.
