Abstract :
This paper describes various waveguide systems based on a form of circular waveguide magic-tee, which incorporates two H01-H11 mode transformers. The applications discussed include a variable power-dividing or power-combining bridge, also the use of a circular polarizer in conjunction with a magic-tee to act as a phase-shifter and variable impedance. Experimental results obtained from S-band models (i.e. ¿a~10 cm) are given, and the systems described are shown to have valuable advantages over existing components used in high-power waveguide assemblies, particular reference being made to their inclusion in linear electron accelerator feedback circuits. Practical considerations are stressed throughout.
