Abstract :
We present ultra-long-haul transmission experiments using an enhanced conventional fiber with - 14-ps/nm/km dispersion coefficient. This new fiber allows for novel dispersion maps with improved transmission performance compared to dispersion maps based on nonslope matched submarine fiber, and similar performance to dispersion flattened maps.
