Abstract
In today´s electric power systems, generation relies almost exclusively on many AC generating units operating in parallel. When a new generating unit is being connected to the system, a variety of conditions must be precisely satisfied, including the amplitude, frequency, and phase conditions. This article describes a new method for establishing the advance time, which is the most important parameter of an automatic generator synchronizer, and focuses on computer simulations used to test the results
