  • Abstract
A systematic approach is presented to analyze the effects of power source transfers on the operation of process plants. Various solutions and guidelines are presented to improve the effectiveness of power transfers. The solutions range from a methodology to analyze and desensitize a plant to a sophisticated high speed autosynchronizing transfer system. The approach and solutions are based on two- and three-breaker open-loop (standby “ready to close”) transfer schemes. Normally, closed tie breaker transfer systems are not included in the scope of this paper
