Abstract :
The presented planar inverted F-antenna (PIFA) employs a combination of two bandwidth enhancement techniques-patch tapering and the T-shaped ground plane-in conjunction with a capacitive feeding mechanism. The resulting impedance bandwidth of this PIFA is about 35- and average gain is more than 4-dB within the United States (US) Public Safety (PS) band (700-900-MHz). The radiation pattern remains almost unchanged over this wide frequency range with good agreement between experimental and simulated results.
