Abstract
The B.B.C.´s pioneering work in the training of staff for operating and maintaining television studio equipment is described. A general discussion on training policy and recruitment is followed by an outline of the training schedule and training techniques. A detailed survey is given of the methods used for training technical assistants and technical operators in the B.B.C. Television Service. The standard which must be reached by the new recruit if he is to continue in the Corporation´s service is indicated, and courses provided for technical assistants and operators worthy of promotion are described.
