Abstract :
This paper describes the type of orbits, and operational frequencies that could be used for a television relay satellite system, including the choice of modulation method and repeater equipment. This is followed by a consideration of the requirements to be met in international television exchanges, including waveform specifications. Television observation satellites (e.g. Tiros) are also described. The paper concludes with a speculation on the development to be expected with satellite television communication systems, and the problems to be encountered.
