Abstract :
A colour television signal employing three basic components EY1/y (ER1/y¿EY1/y) and (EB1/y¿EY1/y) is proposed for use in N.T.S.C. and SECAM type systems. It is shown that this leads to certain improvements both in the quantity and quality of the transmitted information. Methods of receiving such a signal are described and it is concluded that theoretical considerations of the system have reached such a stage that experimental work would be both desirable and justified.
