Abstract :
The multiple carrier frequency offsets (CFOs) of multiple users make frequency synchronization a challenging task in the orthogonal frequency-division multiple-access (OFDMA) uplink. In this paper, a computationally efficient iterative CFO estimation and compensation method for the OFDMA uplink with the generalized subcarrier allocation scheme (CAS) based on the tile structure of IEEE 802.16e is proposed. The proposed method only needs a few iteration cycles for its convergence. It greatly lowers the computational cost for the existing methods and can achieve better CFO estimation and compensation performance.
