Abstract :
The noises known as 1/f and 1/¿f are generally believed to be due to time fluctuations in a component, ¿R(t), of a resistor. This paper describes the recent discovery that the value of the component ¿R(t) itself can be increased by means of short duration pulses applied to a third electrode incorporated in the resistor. The effect is produced irrespective of whether the pulses are periodic or random.
