A digital sonar-signal processor

A development programme to enhance a digital sonar-signal processor and details of particular design techniques are described. The original processor was made from standard MSI and LSI devices, and was capable of 29 Mops. All of the enhancements discussed require the development of custom and semi-custom devices. The design techniques discussed are, however, generally applicable. The enhanced processor considered can offer 69 Mops whilst increasing flexibility.
