Abstract :
High-tech products form the fastest growing segment of international trade, and therefore the development of successful high-tech firms plays an important role in enhancing national economic welfare. However, the potential of such companies is not properly realized in some countries for a variety of reasons including market, size, human resources, and risks. Even in industrialized countries, these companies often fail to capture opportunities individually, but such firms are further incapacitated in developing countries by problems such as infrastructure deficiencies. Thus, firms are often locked in their boundaries and unable to innovate or commercialize their products, R&D services, and patents.
