Abstract :
Comparisons of current melting band detection techniques applied to hundreds of CAMRa RHI scans have revealed differences in estimating the width of the melting band as high as 600 m. The authors present a more accurate method for the determination of the width of the melting band and the implications for attenuation modelling of earth-space communication paths are discussed
