Abstract :
Wireless sensor networks are associated with risk due to the threats of security vulnerabilities. In this context, we have proposed an Intruder Detection System (IDS) that uses sophisticated data fusion technique, which incorporates game theoretic modeling for the interaction between an attacker node and a victim sensor node, with neural networks as a decision making tool and a timer as an attack monitor. The combined effect of all these aspects of IDS makes a robust combat against the packets attempting to hack the critical information residing in the node. To our knowledge, this is a novel work, which combines game theory and artificial neural networks for defending against intruder attack. The obtained simulation results prove to be convincing with respect to the defense mechanism and its security concern.
