Abstract :
The performance of circular patch antennas attached to a laminated automotive windscreen is described. Experimental work and results computed from a spectral domain analysis investigate the input impedance, radiation patterns and the effect of surface wave propagation within the glass. The overall efficiencies of several combinations of substrates and superstrates are presented. Variations in the dimensions of the laminate are discussed as they have a significant effect on patch performance
