    This paper outlines the present position of qualifying bodies in UK and the efforts being made to reach national agreement on standards for the professional engineer. The flow of engineers, temporary and permanent, between various countries, especially between those mentioned, requires understanding of national standards of professional achievement in order to secure integration of engineering effort.
