Abstract :
The output waveforms of collector coupled transistor astable multivibrators possess an excess of rise time due to the recovery transients. However, it is found that the output of an emitter coupled astable multivibrator is free from such transients and consequently gives better rectangular pulses. A design procedure for an emitter coupled transistor astable multivibrator is presented along with a practical circuit as an example using Indian switching transistors of the type CIL 711. The experimental results so obtained are also reported.
