Abstract :
In this correspondence, we explicate the performance of Multi-Input Multi-Output (MIMO) Multi-Carrier (MC) - Code Division Multiple Access(CDMA) system for the colour image transmission using discrete wavelet transform(DWT) technique over a correlated frequency-selective channel. We employ DWT for image compression due to which less number of bits is required to transmit image thereby increasing the spectral efficiency. We realize the turbo code as the channel encoder and maximum log-map decoding algorithm at each mobile station to mitigate the effects of Multiple Access Interference (MAI) and to achieve better bit-error rate (BER) with less signal-to-noise ratio. Further we realize multi-carrier modulation by IFFT at the transmitter and FFT at the receiver. Our computer simulation results show that our considered coded MIMO MC-CDMA achieves better BER performance and superior picture quality and higher compression ratio with considerably reduced SNR for downlink communication.
