Abstract :
Reviews the published information on radio propagation into and within buildings particular to microcellular portable mobile radio channel at frequencies from 150 MHz upwards. However, no particular attention has been paid to the work carried out at millimetre wavelengths. The need for propagation information and the types of information required is described. The buildings, where a portable handset is likely to be used, have been categorised to put bounds on the received signal statistics and provide channel models for any particular type of building. The results published by different authors are then summarised by considering all the proposed categories. The results have been divided into narrowband and wideband measurements. As more measured results become available the design information and channel models can be modified. Suggestions for new measurements required are made in the light of existing information.
