Abstract
The last 50 years has been the Electronics Age. We are now at the beginning of the Information Age. The past three years have seen the Internet achieve critical mass as the pervasive digital infrastructure of the future. The author argues that the convergence of many different technologies and the interplay of business and social forces will produce something qualitatively different from anything we have seen so far.
