Abstract :
A wireless infrared (IR) LAN for the indoor environment is proposed which is compatible with the familiar CSMA/CD protocol used in Ethernet. Eye safe 140 Mbit/s transmission at only 5 mW transmitter power in a 20 m2 cell is experimentally demonstrated
