Abstract :
The author reflects on his life in the electricity supply industry. In particular the author discusses the nationalisation of the industry in 1948, the setting up of the CEGB and Electricity Council, the first nuclear programme, forward load estimates, large conventional plant programme, oil burning power stations, power transmission system, load growth, and the second nuclear programme. The author´s involvement and recollections and reflections of all these areas are discussed.
