Abstract :
A fully integrated LC oscillator with a tuning range of 800 MHz is presented. A combination of capacitive and inductive tuning has been used to produce the large tuning range with a low-gain control input. The phase noise at 1.9 GHz is as low as -120 dBc/Hz at 500 kHz offset. Possible applications include integer-N PLLs with a low level of reference spurs
