Abstract :
A modified lumped-network finite-difference time-domain (LN-FDTD) method is proposed. This method extracts the - relations of a circuit from its state equations, which are easier to obtain than the traditional -matrix. Then, these - relations are incorporated into FDTD iteration to achieve the field and circuit joint computation. Furthermore, the current mismatching effect has been successfully mitigated by increasing the FDTD cells connected to the circuit. The proposed modified algorithm is validated through an amplifier example. Results are compared to those obtained from HFSS-ADS joint simulation, and good agreement is achieved.
